To keep the Madison community aware of the State's budget and its impact on Madison schools, we have created a separate section for all budget related information.

H1N1 Vaccination Clinics for Madison Students Scheduled
Beginning the week of November 9, the Mollen Clinic will be providing H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccines to Madison students. Letters will be going home with all students this week. All clinics will be held outside of normal school hours in the evenings and weekends. The schedule is as follows:

November 10   3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.   Madison Heights  
November 12   4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.   MTA
November 14   9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   Madison Camelview
November 14   9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   Madison Rose Lane
November 14   9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   Simis
November 14   9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.   No. 1
November 18   1:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Park
November 18   1:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.   Meadows 

Vaccines are available to all Madison students over the age of four. For faster service at the clinic, parents are encouraged to pre-register their child online at www.flushotsusa.com.

Bond and Override Elections Pass
The Madison School District thanks its voters for approving the bond and override proposals. The district is especially appreciative of parent Sarah Speer who chaired the "Yes Yes" for Madison campaign and all those who actively promoted the bond and override.

Armando Cuellar Named 2009-2010 School Transportation Person of the Year
Madison's Transportation Supervisor Armando Cuellar is the recipient of the 2009-2010 School Transportation Person of the Year. The award is presented by the Arizona Association for Pupil Transportation and was given to him at the AAPT Conference last weekend. Cuellar was recognized for his 32 years in school transportation, creation of a statewide school bus driver training program, and his department's excellent safety record. He was nominated for the award by his staff.  Congratulations Armando!

Advertising Space Available in The Madison Scene
Advertisement space is available in the next edition of The Madison Scene to be distributed in late October/ early November. The Madison Scene is the district's bi-annual newsletter. It has a distribution of 41,000 and is sent to all residents and businesses between Indian School and Northern, 7th Avenue and 32nd Street. It is also mailed to all of out-of-district families. Information on rates and the space reservation form are located here.

Madison Excels in AZ LEARNS
All eight of Madison's schools received labels of Excelling or Highly Performing on their AZ LEARNS labels, the highest labels awarded. Madison Heights, Madison Simis, Madison Traditional Academy, and Madison Meadows all received Excelling labels. Madison Camelview, Madison Park, Madison Rose Lane, and Madison No. 1 all received Highly Performing labels.

Madison is the only elementary school district in Maricopa County in which all schools received either an excelling or highly performing label.
